Las Vegas Vacation Tips plus Review of the Venetian

The Venetian, Las Vegas – Tips for Living Large on the Cheap!

The Hotels: We took advantage of the $149/nights at the Venetian, the Venetian with the Bellagio and the Mandalay Bay is one of the top three resorts in Vegas. Be warned the $149 deal is not refundable, they will re-rent the room when you cancel and they don’t care what the reason is.

Canyon Ranch Spa Las Vegas Coupons: Next we printed out the voucher for the Venetian, which allowed us to use the gym and the spa facilities at the Canyon Ranch Health Club for at no charge ($35 value)! There we were given all the fruit and bottled water we wanted, enjoyed a relaxing spa tub, sauna and steam bath.

Tip: For the best hotel deal in Vegas, we like the Venetian’s Escape to Luxury.

ceiling of The Venetian ala MichelangeloThe Venetian: Keep your eyes open at the Venetian, even the ceiling in the taxi drop off area is painted ala Michelangelo.  Walk in and your are greeted with fountains, singing gondoliers, living statues, and authentic Italian music.

Tip: Get Apps at Delmonico’s Steakhouse in Vegas – Pan Fried Parmesan Oysters Bienville with Shrimp, Mushrooms, Fresh Spinach Pasta and Herbsaint Butter Sauce was to die for!

Canyon Ranch Spa is located in the Venetian and offers THE BEST MASSAGE you will ever have. I did not upgrade to their trademark “Euphoria Treatment”, though I spoke to a few women who had the treatment and they say it is fabulous. No words can describe it. Tip: Book your Canyon Ranch Spa treatments on Monday-Thursday as the rates drop. Tip: Ask for Gabrielle at the Canyon Ranch when you book your massage. He is fabulous! A Canyon Ranch massage has all the little extras, heated massage table, heated towels for your face during the facial massage, heated towels for your feet after your feet are massaged, and a heated towel for your neck… and just the right combination of pressure and skill to make you feel like you’ve hit heaven.

Tip: Vegas is coupon city, if you are looking to live the high life cheaply, do your homework, go to your favorite search engine and type in Las Vegas Coupons, you will find lots of vouchers.

Dining at the Venetian: If you are on a budget and want to dine, we highly recommend the Canonita Mexican restaurant, with views of Saint Mark’s Square, also, if health conscious try the Southwest flavored Canyon Ranch Cafe, most dishes feature organic ingredients and are low cal. Bouchon was fabulous but frightfully expensive. A glass of wine was $12.

Tip: Canyon Ranch Cafe’ has a 20% off coupon in the Venetian’s coupon booklet.  Print two vouchers before your leave for Vegas, and get two coupon booklets, as the 20% off coupon is only valid for one meal. All food was fabulous except the eggplant, order the crabcakes!

Shows in Vegas:They are all fabulous, but insiders say see “O” (Cirque Du Soleil) is the one to see. We saw Lance Burton, as my husband loves magic and he was grand!

indoor shopping at The VenetianEvery resort is a mall, filled with designer shops that you would expect to see in Milan or 5th Ave. Here is a view of the “indoor shopping” at the Venetian – the ceiling is painted to be a sky and you feel like you are outside in Venice..

Tip: If flying Southwest, get your boarding pass online, you will get the “A” boarding pass and will have the best chance of getting that seat with extra room.
